La Cabane à Sucre Millette Inc
Sugar Shack After 55 years of tradition, for health reasons, we have taken the difficult decision of not opening the sugar shack this spring. Thank you for your patronage. The Millette family and our team Traditional sugar shack located only 15 minutes from Tremblant. For five generations, the Millette family has maintained this time-honoured Québécois "sugaring-off" tradition. Guests are warmly greeted by staff dressed in traditional costumes. A history of the maple grove and guided tours demonstrate how sap is tapped from our maple trees and collected into a horse-drawn barrel, reminiscent of bygone years. Tours are available all year round.
In March 2009 Monique Millette as been honoured as most valuable personality at the Gala des Grands Prix du tourisme Desjardins Laurentides 2009. The title of this prizewinner is given to a person that by her leadership and dynamism had contributed in an exceptional way to the development of the tourism industry in the Laurentians and in Quebec.
The Sugar Shack The Millette "sugar shack" is a first choice tourist destination. This further demonstrates the importance of our cultural mission. Activities We offer a variety of activities for all seasons. Our menu is adaptable to any specific event you need to celebrate. Our traditional "sugar shack" meal complimented by warm maple taffy poured over fresh snow is available all-year round. A Quebec folkloric animator/musician is available upon request. Thematic evenings and meals, as well as special group activities, are also an option. We assure you that your time spent at Cabane à Sucre Millette will be exceptional. Entertainment is our goal! Attractions Our sugar shack is one of the major tourist attractions of the region. Souvenirs of our ancestral past include over 300 antique wall exhibits. We offer a guided tour where we illustrate the gradual process which transforms sap into maple syrup. A walk through our maple grove will eventually lead you to our first sugar shack constructed by Odilon Millette in 1877. Come and join us, and together we will keep our tradition alive. Let us help you discover the joys of the "sugaring-off" season!
